Shrine Day didn't go as planned. 

Against all odds, Héctor Qeema-- Emren's adoptive father-- was chosen to receive the Blessing of Piety. Unfortunately, it was a trap: rather than delivering a blessing, the shrine delivered death. Six Auditors came from the sky, initiating a purge of Town 3-7 as punishment for their harbouring members of the Excom. Thinking quickly, the five apprentices just barely escaped with their lives, and ran through the city to head for Izabel's lab, and the hidden library within. 

And it had been such a lovely day...
